Sneak Preview #8: The Merrell Women's Chesham Jacket

It's been a couple of weeks since our last Sneak Preview and there's no better weekend than the Diamond Jubilee to kick start things again! Merrell are probably best well known for their footwear and now of course their barefoot range, but over the past couple of seasons we've seen some cracking jackets hitting the shelves too. Joining the apparel armory for Autumn/Winter 2012, please welcome the Merrell Women's Chesham Jacket.

The Chesham covers all bases. It features a 2.5 Layer Merrell Opti-Shell waterproofing technology which is highly breathable, so if the clouds decide to descend like they have done today you won't need to bat an eyelid, plus it's fully seam sealed. A durable water repellent coating on the outside of the coat also helps to bead moisture off the surface. Accompanying the Opti-Shell is 600g of premium Goose Down insulation, so you can venture out and tackle the colder Winter conditions.

The Chesham Jacket isn't just solely performance driven though, it has style in abundance. The outer has been made with a Linen look fabric, which is soft to the touch and elevates the jackets overall aesthetics. A removable faux fur trim is very contemporary, as well as helping to keep your face as warm as possible when the hood is up.

The jacket also features dual front zip entry hand pockets, so there's plenty of room to keep your smaller accessories and essentials as well as providing somewhere warm to stick your hands if you've forgotten a pair of gloves! Rounding the jacket off nicely is an interior toggle adjustable waist for a feminine silhouette.

We're expecting our first drop of the Merrell Women's Chesham Jacket around September, so keep those eyes peeled! We've got two colours coming in; Black and Birch (as shown above). The Chesham Jacket will cost around £240.

On a side note we now have the Official Outdoorkit Youtube Channel up and running, it's well worth checking out and subscribing to for news and reviews!
