The Vango Odyssey 500 Tent

Following on from our closer inspection of the Vango Ark 300 DS last week, we're throwing another one of Vango's new additions for this Spring/Summer your way. Please welcome the Vango Odyssey 500 Tent.

(Moss)

Part of Vango's Weekend Tent range, the Odyssey 500 has been designed mainly for groups, first time campers and families. With it's easy pitch tunnel style and colour coded poles, you'll have your home from home up in no time, leaving you ample time to go out and explore your surroundings, not to mention making it a stress free start to your trip.

Featuring TBS II (Tension Band System), Vango have adopted this structure into their designs to create an internal bracing system. The patented Tension Band System ensures that your tent performs in adverse weather conditions, especially strong changeable winds. In calmer conditions the system can also be disconnected if desired. The advantage of the TBS II system over the normal TBS system is that user's ease of movement inside the tent is increased, with less space taken up by the band system itself.

(Surf Blue)

Moving on to the tent itself, it comes with Protex 3,000HH fabrics and a 10,000HH groundsheet. Again, for ease of use and pitching the Odyssey comes with pre-attached guylines with guy holders, making your tent as secure as can be in more blustery conditions. The tent has reflective webbing as well and combining that with the bright orange guylines there shouldn't be any accidents when the night closes in, although a head torch might come in useful!

Aesthetics wise the Odyssey 500 features large panoramic windows so you can watch the world go by with plenty of natural light coming into the living areas. It may only be a small extra detail but Vango's 'Pelmet' feature gives the interior of the tent a clean look, covering up any attachment points etc, think of it as a tent's very own skirting board!

(Panoramic Windows)

To ensure you don't get all clammy when inside the tent, Vango have airzone ventilation and a breathable polyester 'lights out' inner tent. Other additional features include; a full mesh side door, detachable inner divider for privacy, part mesh inner door and a handled carry bag so you can easily get the tent from the car to the pitching area at the campsite.

We've currently got the Vango Odyssey 500 in stock in Moss and Surf Blue. We also have the 500's younger brother the Odyssey 400 in stock, as well as the Side Canopy and Footprint.
