Places We've Been

We asked Outdoorkit staff members to name some of their favourite places to hike and if possible, suggest a walk to do there. Here's what Jenna Nolan had to say:

Personally I've always enjoyed hiking in the peak district - it's close enough that I can get there on a long weekend, and has enough hills and changes in elevation to provide a challenge. My favourite place up there is probably up on Kinder Scout itself - depending on time of year it can look like the surface of the moon up there. It's also an excellent place to practice navigation skills, but be careful - there are several large mud fissures and bogs that aren't terribly well marked on the map.

This walk should be suitable for most hikers, with the option of wandering around on Kinder Scout when you reach the top. Remember to be careful on snake pass and at the top - it's a real hotspot for fog, but on a good day it is hiking at its best.
