Don't you just love the British Summer? Just when you think things are hotting up and it lures you into that false sense of security it then proceeds to lash it down non stop for a week, although on the positive side everyone's gardens should be looking pretty damn lush by now!
With all this sogginess in mind we thought we'd bring you a Sneak Preview of a product that has coping with wetter conditions at the forefront of it's design. New for Autumn/Winter 2012, we bring you the Haglofs Men's Vassi Parka.
The Vassi Parka has been made as a snow sports jacket, making it ideal for hitting the slopes in. Starting with it's technical makeup, it's been constructed using Gore-Tex 2-Layer with a hydrostatic head of 28,000mm, more than enough to combat heavier downpours and of course snowdrift. Delving our way inside the jacket, it's been given a healthy amount of synthetic Primaloft Insulation, 60g in the sleeves and hood, 100g in the body to keep those organs toasty. When it comes to synthetic insulation, Primaloft really is the top dog, having owned more than one jacket with Primaloft fillings, I couldn't recommend it enough!
Being a Parka jacket the Vassi has a longer length mid thigh cut for extra waterproofing and insulating coverage further down the body. It also features a two way asymmetrical watertight main zipper along with torso core vents with access to inner pockets. You get one chest pocket, one sleeve pocket, two inner pockets as well as two zippered bellowed lower pockets, so all in all there's plenty of room to store all the gadgets and maps you may need while out pounding the snow!
Highlighting it's Ski natured design the Vassi Parka features a 3 way adjustable insulated ski helmet compatible hood with a foam and wire reinforced peak for extra protection and rigidity. Lower down the jacket comes with a removable, stretch internal snow skirt with adjustment, elastication and silicon grip lined lower face. The Vassi's articulated sleeves promote freedom of movement and dexterity and velcro adjustable sleeve cuffs allow for a snug customizable fit. Also helping to provide the best fit, the jacket comes with a single hand adjustable hem.
The Haglofs Men's Vassi Parka will cost around £400 when in stock and comes in two colours; Blue Ink as shown above and a classic Black. If your weight conscious, the Vassi comes it at around 1.150g, which isn't bad at all considering the specs and insulation it packs in!
