New Brand Alert - Dakine Rucksacks, Daypacks and Luggage

Fresh into stock last week, we're very happy to announce DAKINE has arrived! A completely new brand for us, Dakine were founded in 1979 in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii. The word "Da Kine" is Hawaiian and means 'the best' or 'the kind' so it's no surprise of the quality of the bags, rucksacks and accessories the brand manufactures. We've got a whole plethora of their range now in stock, everything from hard-wearing duffel bags to hip packs and wash bags.

Seeing as it's brand spanking new for us, we thought we'd pick out a few items, grab the microscope and have a closer look at them.

Let's kick things off with sunnier climes in mind. The Split Roller series is the perfect companion for your next vacation. It comes in a 100 litre and 65 litre version, with corresponding women's specific models. The Split Roller series features a split level design to allow for easy access, always handy when its just the one thing you want to get a hold of, without having to rummage around and make a complete mess of your neat packing. The sturdy retractable handle and smooth wheel system means you can walk it around the airport with ease and then safely compact it all up for the journey. The Split Roller series also features exterior organisation pockets, for accessories and essentials you need closer to hand. Lockable zippers also ensure for extra security.

Moving over to the daypack side of things, we have the Dakine Campus 33L Daypack. A versatile pack, the Campus is at home in an urban environment and is ideal for university or school use. The Campus has a padded laptop sleeve that fits most laptops up to 15". There's also an insulated cooler pocket, to keep your beverages or any food stuffs fresh for your travels and a fleece lined sunglasses pocket, just in case the sun decides to pop out. Mesh side pockets also allow to keep important bits and bobs close at hand. The adjustable sternum strap also allows for a versatile and comfortable fit.

Featured Brands: Montane

It's a new week with fresh ideas, so we thought we'd get it going with a new 'Featured Brands' section, giving you an insight into the brands themselves and their key products.

Kicking things off with Montane.

Montane is a company owned and run by people with a passion for outdoor performance sports in challenging and inspiring places. Whether running or biking, hiking or climbing the characteristics required from perfromance clothing are the same. They have pioneered lightweight outdoor clothing for over 18 years now. By reducing weight and pack size of all Montane clothing to the lowest achievable levels, the outdoor experience is further enhanced. Less energy is wasted carrying your clothing and more space is available for other essential items like food or equipment.

Possibly one of their most iconic pieces is the Featherlite Smock, a tried and tested piece that many have sworn by for over 20 years. It uses one of the softest, lightest fabrics in the business, Pertex Microlight, which offers fantastic wind resistance making it a key piece for mountain climbers, runners and and bikers alike.
