Sneak Preview #4: The Haglofs Men's Essens Down Jacket

After a mini bank holiday hiatus, hope everyone had a goodun? We're back with another Autumn/Winter 2012 Sneak Preview. So far we've had a sneaky peak at Bergans, Montane and of course The North Face. Today it's time to have a gander at one of the many new pieces we've got to look forward to from Haglofs.

New for this Winter we have the Haglofs Men's Essens Down Jacket. A jacket that offers minimal weight, superb compressibility and warmth, it's sure to be a massive hit. Made with 100% Recycled Polyester (another sign of Haglofs commitment to the environment) and a super light down proof 20D ripstop it's both durable and lightweight, as well as being environmentally friendly. Inside the Essens has been packed with a 750 fill of 90/10 Goose Down to provide fantastic warmth for when the colder weather comes calling. Don't let it's healthy down filling fool you though, they'll be no Michelin man effect here, the jacket is highly compressible and compact, illustrated by the fact it can be folded away into it's own pocket, so it can be easily stored when not in use.

The Essens Jacket features Polartec Power Stretch shoulder filaments for optimum freedom of movement, making it ideal to where for faster paced activities in the cold. It has a full length main zipper with wind baffle behind and an integrated chin guard for extra warmth and next to skin comfort. The jackets two pockets provide a toasty place to keep your hands warm as well as giving you some extra room to store a few smaller accessories. The hand pockets have been adorned with elasticated piping for a snug closure. A hidden zippered chest pocket also could be ideal for storing smaller documents such as maps and other travel essentials.

The jackets articulated sleeves again helps the overall dexterity of the jacket and elastic piping at the end of the sleeves and at the bottom hem give a comfortable fit as well as maximizing the heat retention of the jacket. The Essens also features a rear hanging loop, giving you another option to hang it out the way instead of compressing it and folding it up.

The Haglofs Men's Essens Down Jacket will cost around £143.99 when it comes into us. It weights in at an impressively lightweight 315g. Both the Men's and Women's models come in a enticing range of colours; Meso Blue, Silver, Black, Lime Green and Dragon.

We're also expecting the Essens Down Vest this Winter as well, with very similar specs (although without the sleeves obviously). The Women's vest comes in Lime Green, Silver and Black and the Men's model comes in Meso Blue, Silver and Black. The vest will cost around £110 when it comes in to us.
