New: The Haglofs Rose Sandal

Haglofs aren't particularly renowned for their Summer footwear, but their new Rose Sandal may just change that. A new addition to their range for Spring/Summer 2012, it has all the stability of a shoe but with all the added benefits of a sandal, so let's have a closer look at it!

The upper of the Haglofs Rose Sandal has been made with 100% recycled polyester webbing, water repellent micro fibres and a quick drying mesh, so their not going to become wet and mushy if you encounter some rain or a river or two. The Rose uses a SOLE anatomically shaped footbed with permanent odour control to increase comfort a do away with any less than savory smells.

Haglofs are definitely one company that takes sustainability and the environment seriously. They try and minimize the use of air transport to help cut down on greenhouse gases, have a strict code on the use of undesirable chemicals and also try and use recycled materials where possible. This is already highlighted in the use of recycled fabrics in the webbing of the sandal but they have also included 15% cork in the midsole and footbed of the Rose to reduce the use of petroleum based materials.

Moving on to the rest of the sandal, it features a non marking outsole and a rubber toe protector that extends on the medial side to maximize overall protection, giving the wearer the opportunity to venture out to more testing terrains. The Rose uses a Razor Zipped Watagrip outsole for good traction on wet and slippy surfaces. The sandals adjustable heel webbing allows for a comfortable customizable fit, as does the adjustable webbing on the forefoot.

The Haglofs Rose Sandal costs £76.49 and weighs in at a lightweight 380g. The Men's version comes in the colour Graphite/Oxide Green and the Women's model comes in Graphite/Crimson.
