Sneak Preview #6: The Jack Wolfskin Chilly Pass Jacket and Helium Down Jacket

Founded in 1981, Jack Wolfskin have gone from strength to strength to become one of Europe's leading outdoor brands. Their priority is to always offer customers the maximum benefit so that they can feel right at home in the great outdoors, making their slogan "At home outdoors" really ring true. They have quite possibly one of the largest selections of 3-in-1 Jackets your ever likely to find, so if you want an interchangeable layering system, Jack Wolfskin may well be the brand to check out.

It's time to take a look at a few of the key pieces we're due in from Jack Wolfskin this Autumn/Winter! First up we've got a new softshell, the Jack Wolfskin Men's Chilly Pass Jacket. The Chilly Pass has been made with Flexshield Thermic 2L, a virtually windproof and highly breathable Softshell laminate. The outside of the fabric is water resistant and the inside has a polyester microfleece lining for extra heat retention and comfort.

The Chilly Pass Jacket features two raised hip pockets, allowing you room to wear a climbing harness or rucksack easily, as well as providing an ideal place to keep smaller essentials. A discreet sleeve pocket also gives you another place to keep smaller items. The Jackets inner pocket is perfect for keeping more expensive gadgets like mobile phones and MP3 players hidden safely away.

Just in case you get caught out in a light shower or two the jacket comes with a lightweight hood that stores in the collar, so when not in use it doesn't make for an uncomfortable fit or untidy aesthetics. Articulated elbows also gives the user excellent freedom of movement and dexterity.

The Jack Wolfskin Men's Chilly Pass Jacket will cost around £143.99 when it comes into us and weighs in at 655g. The jacket comes in two colours; Blue Graphite and Lime Green.

Next up we've got the Jack Wolfskin Men's Helium Down Jacket. Like the Chilly Pass it's completely new for AW12. It's been made with a 90/10 White Duck Down 700 cuin filling. The outer of the jacket uses Airgrid 20D, a featherlight and downproof material with a durable water repellent coating. The Airgrid fabric is also soft to the touch and with it's mini ripstop construction it's also incredibly durable.

The Helium Down jacket comes with 2 hip pockets, perfect for storing away smaller accessories and essentials, as well as keeping your hands nice and toasty on colder days. One of the hip pockets also has a stow away function, allowing the entire jacket to be compressed and stored away with no hassle at all.

The Jack Wolfskin Men's Helium Down Jacket will cost about £112 when it comes in. The jacket also weighs in at a lightweight 410g and comes in three colours; Moroccan Blue, Black and Tango Red.

That's a couple of pieces to look forward to for the Winter, but you can check out our current Spring/Summer Jack Wolfskin range here! We've got everything from waterproofs to rucksacks, so you can make sure your fully kitted out, whatever you fancy getting up to!
