The last couple of weeks have really seen the cold snap hit home, with car de-icings a plenty and layers upon layers being flung on before heading out. I had to break out the Brasher 4 Season socks for my football outing on Saturday, it's easy to underestimate how bigger difference a decent pair of socks can make when the winter chill gets going. The thicker top layers get pulled out of the cupboard and from under the stairs around this time too and the main player that keeps us all warm and toasty is of course Down. Synthetic fabrics are fantastic for when its a bit nippy and wet, but when the temperature starts to drop into minus numbers, there's no better insulator than Goose Down. Thing is with down, people worry about taking care of it, the dreaded thought of getting their gear wet and seeing all that lovely lofted down clumped into nasty soaking balls. But never fear, it's not as hard or as testing as you think, this video from Rab shows you how!
