Review: The North Face Hotlum Sleeping Bag

We've just had a drop of The North Face Hotlum Sleeping Bags, so theres no time like the present to give the low down on it.

The bag itself has been categorized as three season, making it ideal for backpacking and camping. It's been given a 600 Goose Down fill, so theres going to be more than enough warmth for the activities it's intended for. The classic 'Mummy' construction matches the contours of the body and helps to retain as much heat as possible, so they'll be no cold chills during the night.

The Hotlum has a lower comfort temperature rating of -10°C for men, and -3°C for women. The extreme temp comes out at -28°, but that's essentially the temperature the bag will keep you alive, so best stick to the comfort ratings methinks! The bags trapezoid box baffles helps eliminate cold spots and retain heat. The Hotlum's chambered hood keeps your bonce warm as well, so there should be no need to wear multiple fleece hats when out camping.

The bag also features a rather handy shoulder level zipped pocket, providing an easy place to store the little essentials like keys and your mobile phone. It goes without saying that the nylon mesh storage sack and stuffsac are included, so no problems packing it away before and after your trip. The North Face Hotlum comes in the colour Ink Blue, with a hint of Anemone Green, obviously.
