Sneak Preview #7: The Montane Men's Polestar Jacket

We're back in the realm on Montane again for our 7th Sneak Preview. We've already taken a look at the Ace Jacket and the Featherlite Down Jacket, both of which will be coming into stock at Outdoorkit Towers for the Autumn/Winter 2012.

Next up is the Montane Men's Polestar Jacket. The Polestar has been designed to withstand Scottish mountain winters, so you know it's going to have a bit of clout behind it. It's been made with exceptionally high quality down with a 750+ fill power. The outer of the jacket uses Pertex Endurance, giving the Polestar durable, windproof and water resistant protection. Inside the jacket features a PEAQ down liner that gives great next to skin comfort as well as being highly breathable and fast drying.

Moving our way on to the jackets others specs, it features articulated arms for high reach movement and has been tailored specifically to reduce hem lift. For extra protection the jacket comes with a removable, fully adjustable helmet compatible hood with a wired peak. The Polestar has comfort high on the agenda as well as performance and this is highlighted by the soft fleece beard guard around the face and mouth which just elevates the Polestars all round comfort rating.

You also get plenty of storage room, and you might need it when venturing out to the snowy Scottish mountains. The Polestar comes with an external chest pocket, very handy for storing away things like Maps and other documents. You also get two deep hand warmer pockets with a brushed liner for a luxurious feel, so if you do head out with gloves, or just want a bit of extra warmth, you've got an ideal place to keep your hands toasty! There's also an internal mesh security pocket to keep your more expensive items safely packed away.

The Montane Polestar comes with a full length, reversed and baffled two-way YKK front zip for ease of use with a backpack or climbing harness. The jackets adjustable cuffs with grab tabs allow for a customizable fit as well as ease of use for when wearing gloves or mitts. It also features an internal half waist drawcord to prevent snow drift finding it's way inside and of course to help with heat retention. For added safety the jacket also features reflectivity.

The Montane Men's Polestar Jacket will cost around £161.99 when it arrives. We've got it coming in two colours; Deep Abyss Blue and a classic Black.
