JJ Youngest Ocean Rowers - update
Some time ago, Outdoor Kit happily agreed to sponsor Jamie Facer-Childs and James Thysse in their quest to set a new world record for youngest rowers EVER to cross the Indian Ocean. We're happy to report that, despite a terrifying setback when the boat capsized, they are still soldiering on, having completed an epic 1,323 miles of their 3,600 mile trip.
Not only is this a world record attempt - Jamie and James are raising money for two chosen charities - Sparks, investors in paediatric research and medicine, and Headway, dedicated to promoting understanding brain injury and providing support for those affected.
We're always eager to hear about how our sponsored teams and invidiuals get on - and although the arduous task faced by these two brave rowers hasn't been plain sailing (if you'll pardon the pun), what with big waves, meagre food supplies and being stalked by strange, yellow fish - it's clear that Jamie and James's mission is nothing if not out of the ordinary.
