An Introduction to Haglofs

We've been stocking Haglofs for around 9 months on the website and in store now and it's proving itself to be a real quality brand. They're the biggest supplier of outdoors equipment within the Nordic region and are based in Sweden. Their product range covers most of the outdoors products you'd expect, with the real strength in the lightweight end, particularly in waterproofs.

There are a few key pieces that really showcase Haglofs: the Single Top Fleece, the Lim Ultimate jacket, the Oz pullover, the Kaza pullover and the Spitz jacket.

The Single Top Fleece is a great example of Haglofs radically improving a simple product, the microfleece. The Single Top does this by using Polartec microfleece, so it's got that technical aspect of breathability and pilling resistance, but the main advantage is that it's just soooo comfortable. As soon as people pick it up in the shop they start stroking it! A really good base layer due to its warmth, but also ideal worn on its own due to its comfort.

The Lim Ultimate jacket is a really lightweight, full-zip waterproof Gore-Tex Paclite jacket. Again, it's got that technical edge from the Gore-Tex Paclite, but done in the Haglofs way! This means that the jacket only weight 247g but is still durable and this is down to the attention to detail. Extra narrow tape to seal the seams and a unique cut pattern reduces the number of seams, both contributing to the low weight.

We'll cover the other two Haglofs key items in another post. Both the Single Top and Lim Ultimate are available in both men's and women's versions in a selection of colours. When choosing a size, please bear in mind that Haglofs make a very tight fit - always go for the larger size if in any doubt!
