Berghaus RG1

The RG1 jacket is Berghaus' ubiqituous lightweight all-round jacket. Using Berghaus's own waterproof and breathable fabric Aquafoil, it also has a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating, increasing performance and delaying saturation to the face fabric. This results in a waterproof fabric that is also breathable and because there is no membrane involved, it's much cheaper than something like Gore-Tex or eVent.

The fabric is also durable and lightweight, therefore perfect for most excursions unless you're going to be doing anything extreme or it's going to be really wet. The only thing to look out for with Aquafoil (or any other fabric with a DWR) is that it needs to be re-proofed every 3-6 months to maintain the waterproofness and breathability.

The RG1 comes with two external zipped hand warmer pockets and a rollaway hood so it is very versatile and useful when the heavens open. The drawcord hem also helps to keep out the wind or keep you cool, depending on how you use it. That said, it's a real fashion staple and consistently our best-selling waterproof. Available in 6 colours and sizes from XS to XXXS, there's one for everyone!
