The North Face Upland Men's Jacket - New for Autum/Winter 2008

The North Face Upland Jacket is a slightly longer, harder wearing version of the best-selling TNF Resolve. Designed for more vigorous uses than the Resolve (that's more of a day-to-day out in town jacket), the Upland features a harder-wearing and slightly thicker HyVent outer shell with a 100% polyester mesh lining. This won't give it any appreciable warmth, but helps with ventilation and makes it more comfortable to wear in hot weather.

Length wise, it's right there is the middle - lightweight jackets tend to be shorter to save weight whereas mountaineering jackets are longer to cover your bum. This makes the Upland an ideal crossover piece as it looks more like a town jacket but also has the technical features and durability you'd need in a walking jacket. There's a fully adjustable hood that stows in the collar and pit zips for ventilation, which is what you'd expect in a standard walking jacket.

There are men's and women's versions, available in 4 colours, retail price of £100.
